What's Up With Scott? Medikidz Explain Childhood Glaucoma
Realising how confusing health conditions like glaucoma can be, Dr Kim Chilman-Blair and Dr Kate Hersov teamed up with graphic artists to create a series of comic books. The books are written by doctors, with input from experts in the field, and explain all about the conditions, from diagnosis through investigations to treatment.
The books follow the Medikidz, five superheroes from outer space, called Pump, Chi, Gastro, Axon and Abacus. Each Medikidz specialises in explaining a different part of the body.
What's Up With Scott is an engaging and dynamic adventure book that tells all about glaucoma.
Synopsis
We first meet Scott as he is about to see the doctor. He has problems with his eyes and everything seems blurry and too bright. He keeps bumping into things and that makes him very angry! Scott doesn't understand why his eyes aren't working properly.
The Medikidz can see how frustrated Scott is, but with their help, he won't be confused for long! They whisk him off on a tour of Mediland where they explain all about glaucoma and its treatment. Join Scott on his travels as he gets to understand what's wrong with his eyes and how it can be helped.
