Tissue
Explanation

Tissue just means a group of cells that together carry out a particular job in your body. You have four basic types of tissue, these are called connective tissue, muscle tissue, nervous tissue and epithelial tissue.

Connective tissue holds other tissues together. It can stretch and squeeze easily. Bone is an example of connective tissue.

Muscle tissue is made of muscle cells, and it produces action or movement in your internal organs. Smooth muscle tissue lines the inside of your organs, skeletal muscle tissue lets your bones move and cardiac muscle tissue in your heart helps it to pump blood through your body.

Nervous tissue is made up of the cells that are contained in your central nervous system and peripheral nervous system. So, nervous tissue forms your brain and spinal cord.

Epithelial tissue is formed of layers of cells that cover the surfaces of organs, like your skin and breathing airways. It provides a barrier between what it covers and the environment surrounding it.
