Thyroid Stimulating Hormone
Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) is a special kind of hormone. It is sent by your pituitary gland to tell your thyroid gland to produce more thyroid hormones when you don't have enough in your blood.
When you have enough thyroid hormones again, your hypothalamus tells your pituitary gland to stop sending TSH. Without TSH, your thyroid gland stops releasing thyroid hormones.
