Scoliosis

Scoliosis is sideways bending of your spine or backbone to the left or right in a "c" shape (or both - in an 's' shape). There are different ways this might happen:
1. If your vertebra are an odd shape, are stuck together on one side or are only half formed, it can make your spine lean over.
2. The muscles along your spine could pull it into a bendy shape
3. Your vertebra and muscles are fine, but your spine just grows bendy anyway.
Sometimes, the bend is very minor and you could go on having scoliosis for ages without people noticing. It is most likely that you will still be able to carry on as normal - running, jumping, dancing, doing gymnastics etc. It is very rare for your spine to bend so badly that it stops you from running around.
