Pituitary Gland
-
+
Your pituitary gland is an endocrine gland. It gets information from your hypothalamus about the levels of the hormones that are in your body. It then tells your other endocrine glands to release more of any hormones that are needed, or to stop producing the hormones that your body already has enough of.
When there are enough hormones in your blood, your pituitary gland switches off the other endocrine glands so that they don't produce any more.
To learn more about the role of the pituitary gland, check out 'What's Up With Greg? Medikidz Explain Growth Hormone Deficiency' in our comic book shop.
