Phaeochromocytoma is a rare type of tumour that affects your adrenal glands. These tumours can be benign or malignant, but most of them are benign.

No one knows what causes a phaeochromocytoma, but when it has grown it makes your adrenal gland produce too much of two hormones called adrenaline and noradrenaline.
