PET Scan
PET is short for positron emission tomography. A PET scan shows a 3D picture of how things are working in your body, as well as what it looks like inside. Doctors can see exactly what cells in your body are doing.
PET uses glowing atoms that can be followed wherever they go, using a special camera called a gamma camera. Sometimes PET scans are done alongside CT or MRI scans.
