Explanation

Oestrogen modulators interfere with how a hormone called oestrogen works. Some hormones are different in men and women - the hormone for femaleness is oestrogen, and the hormone for maleness is testosterone. Mammary gland (breast)cells are activated to grow by oestrogen, so oestrogen modulators can be used as a treatment for breast cancer. They can stop the cells growing.
