NSAIDs
Explanation

Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs for short) are medicines that help with pain. The name just means that they reduce pain that is caused by inflammation, but without using Steroid.

There are lots of different NSAIDs - aspirin is an example of one. Like you can guess from the name, they work best at helping with pain that has been caused by inflammation.

NSAIDs are most often used to help with the pain you get if you have arthritis, but they are also useful to help with other conditions, like toothache, period pains, pain after an operation, back pain and migraine.
