Iodine
Iodine is a natural chemical that is found in many foods. Nearly all of the iodine you eat gets used to make two of your thyroid hormones, and it is found in shellfish and green, leafy vegetables. Another good source of iodine comes from the salt that you put on your food. Most countries put iodine in this salt, and it is usually labeled as iodised salt.
