Heart Attack
A heart attack is what happens when your heart stops beating properly, because it's not getting enough blood. This usually happens because fat has gradually built up over time in the arteries in your heart, making them get narrower and narrower. When your arteries are very narrow, your blood can't flow through them properly and your heart doesn't get enough.
Your heart needs oxygen to work, and not enough blood means not enough oxygen. This leads to heart damage or even death. You can help to prevent heart attacks later in life by doing things now to make sure that you stay healthy, like getting lots of exercise and eating a balanced diet.
