Chromosome
Chromosomes are found in every cell in your body and are containers for DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid), which carries your genes. Humans have 46 chromosomes in each cell, and you get half of them from your Mum and the other half from your Dad.
There are 22 pairs and two others that are called the sex chromosomes -boys have a Y chromosome and an X chromosome, and girls have two X chromosomes.
