Cerebral Hemispheres
The cerebral hemispheres are the two halves of your brain. 'Hemisphere' means 'half a sphere'. The right hemisphere controls movement on the left side of your body and is important for receiving and analysing information from the outside world.
The left hemisphere controls movement on the right side of your body and is important for all types of communication. It may be specialised for some behaviours and abilities, like doing calculations.
The cerebral hemispheres work together and they are in constant communication with each other via the corpus callosum.
