Carbohydrate
Carbohydrates are the main type of nutrient that your body uses as a fuel. Sugary foods like fruit juice, fizzy drinks, chocolate and sweets contain lots of small carbohydrates like glucose. Foods like pasta, rice, potatoes and bread contain larger carbohydrates like starch.
It's important to control the amount of carbohydrates you eat to avoid becoming overweight or developing type 2 diabetes.
