Blood is a special fluid that flows all around your body through blood vessels. It's a kind of delivery, collection and transportation system. It delivers essential things, like nutrients and oxygen, to the cells in your body and collects and takes away waste products from these cells.

Blood is made up of three types of cell - red blood cells, white blood cells and platelets, and they all float in a liquid called plasma.
