Antibodies are proteins in your blood. They are the special forces in your immune system. Antibodies sound a red alert when they identify bad germs, like bacteria and viruses, invading your body.

In an allergic reaction, antibodies recognise a type of allergen, and overreact because they mistake it for a bad germ!
