Anti-Histamine
Anti-histamines work by stopping histamine from reaching its target site in your body. So, for example, if the histamine has been released near your skin, causing you to have red, swollen, itchy bumps, the anti-histamines stop the bumps from being so itchy and they eventually go away! There are lots of different anti-histamines, and you would usually take them as a tablet, or as a cream if only your skin is affected.
If you have any other questions, you can ask your doctor, or chat to other people about anti-histamine in the Medikidz forums and virtual world, Mediland.
