Children's food allergies have rocketed by 200% in the last 10 years and health education company Medikidz is launching a comic book to help kids understand why they get poorly. In What's Up With Paulina? Medikidz superheroes take Paulina on a trip around Mediland - a planet shaped like the human body - to explain what causes allergic reactions and how medicines can help control them.
The book also shows the child having an allergy is pretty common, so there's no need to feel isolated if they have one. Medikidz boss Dr Kim Chilman-Blair says: "The comic book gives children with food allergy a proper medical understanding of why they have to avoid certain foods in a fun, interesting and engaging way."
