MediHealth - Hypodermis

The hypodermis is the deepest layer of your skin. It's like glue - it sticks the upper layers of your skin to the muscles underneath. The hypodermis contains fat that pads your bones, protecting you from bumps and knocks. Fat also stores energy and nutrients, and your body can actually use the fat in the hypodermis to survive for weeks without food!
