Treatment

You don’t usually need any treatment, as German measles is such a mild illness. You will probably just need to rest to get better, and make sure that you drink plenty of water so that you don’t get dehydration. Your symptoms will most likely go away after a week to 10 days.

Your body will make antibodies to fight the infection and get rid of it. Once you have had German measles, you are usually immune to the virus for the rest of your life, so it is very, very rare to have it more than once.
